Intentions?

At Twelve Academy, we believe on the early encouragement of developing critical intentional thoughts on the kids since young age and “force” them to think.

What does that mean? Every time during the game, when something happens, that “not supposed to happen” or “something wrong” within the current context at the time. Instead of blaming, the approach has been to stop the play and asking questions.

What did you try to do? What was the intention of this pass? Who did you try to pass the ball to? What was the intention behind this action who made them make that decision?

We always encourage the players since young age with the thought of “taking care of the ball”, to keep the ball. And with the proper guidance, make them think before executing rushed decisions that sometimes leads to losing the ball.

It is tough, there are many things who is going in the kids heads and it is our goal to encourage and make them feel comfortable making mistakes, risking and LEARNING!

What is your thought about this? Does the coach of one your kids also do something similar?
